Thank you for your interest in supporting the work of the Northampton Survival Center, an emergency food pantry providing 800,000 pounds of food to over 4,200 of our neighbors annually. In order to serve our clients we rely heavily on donations from the local communities we support; and, businesses located in these communities are ardent supporters.

Why should you consider supporting the Northampton Survival Center?

While each business has its own philosophy regarding philanthropy, a survey of our supporters have identified three “key” reasons why they support us:

  1. “Because it’s the right thing to do.”
Supporting local charities make the communities we live in stronger. Those that need support today can be the supporters of tomorrow.DGB13
  2. “We trust that the Survival Center will put our donation to good use.”
This year the Northampton Survival Center will be celebrating 30 years of supporting Hampshire County residents, our neighbors, who have fallen on difficult times. We’ve been here and will continue to be here, distributing thousands of pounds of food per day to those most vulnerable in our community.
  3. “Associating ourselves with a respected community charity makes our business stand out.”
You should take pride in your donation and be recognized for supporting a reputable, local not-for-profit.

How can you support the Survival Center?

  1. Donate money to our annual campaign, Businesses for a Better Community.
Through our annual drive, your funds will be put to use in our operations. For every $100 you donate, we can buy 520 pounds of food – an amount that would only get you 60 pounds of food at the local grocery store.
  2. Donate monetary proceeds from an event that benefits both the Survival Center and your business.
Over the years, local businesses have been very creative in raising money for the Survival Center. They have raffled off motorcycles, given free oil changes in exchange for donations, donated portions of their weekly/monthly sales and much more. If you have a great i
dea, we would be happy to support you with signage, literatureDGB2, our logo and more. Contact us with your fundraising idea and we’ll do what we can to assist.
  3. Plan a food drive.

Giving your customers a service in exchange for their bringing in canned food is a good way to promote your business and also support the Survival Center. However, please keep in mind that food donations, while always accepted, are not as efficient as monetary donations to the Center.

The recognition of your support is important to us. To thank you for your donation and to let the community know that you are a supporter of the Survival Center, we can provide you with a graphic image of our logo that you can use on your website or other appropriate place. Larger donors will receive public recognition via the Survival Center website as well as their logo on our sponsor page hyperlinking to their website. As a matter of policy, we cannot share our contact lists with you or take on large-scale administrative functions to support your project. Please call Amy Marsters, Donor Relations Coordinator, at 586-6564 at any time to discuss your ideas.
