Build-Your-Own Instant Oatmeal
Tired of your regular oatmeal every morning? Try some of these suggestions for a yummy variation!

Cook time: 3 minutes
Servings: Many!
INGREDIENTS
1 container of quick oats
1 bag of powdered milk
1 package of raisins
1 package of dried cranberries/figs
1 jar of cinnamon
1 jar of peanut butter
Other ingredients you may want to add:
Sweetener of your choice: brown sugar, white sugar, maple syrup, vanilla
Salt
Other toppings: nuts, dried coconut, fresh fruit
Instructions for 1 individual serving of oatmeal:
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of quick oats, 1 tablespoon of powdered milk, a pinch of salt (optional), and a large pinch of cinnamon.
Add 1 cup water and mix. Microwave for 60 seconds. Stir, let the oatmeal absorb the water for 2 minutes. Add toppings and enjoy!
OR
Add 1 cup boiling water and mix. Let sit for 2 minutes. Add toppings and enjoy!
Instructions for larger quantities:
In a large bowl, add 4 cups of oats, ½ cup of powdered milk, a ½ tsp of salt (optional), and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix together. Store in an airtight jar.
When ready to eat, add ½ cup of quick oatmeal mix to a small bowl or mug. Microwave/add boiling water, mix, add toppings, and enjoy!
CARROT TIPS
• Use your extra powdered milk in hot cocoa, coffee/tea, smoothies, macaroni & cheese, or mashed potatoes.
• Add peanut butter and some jelly to add a swirl of each in your oatmeal! It adds nutrition and sweetness!
