In Memoriam – M. Neal Daniels

Northampton, MA – M. Neal Daniels, 75, of Northampton, MA, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Holyoke Veterans Home. Neal was born on October 12, 1948, in Springfield, MA to the late Montefiore and Anita (Letourneau) Daniels.

Neal graduated from West Springfield High School and began attending UMass Amherst before entering the Army. Neal served in Vietnam from 1970–1972, after which he returned to UMass to earn a degree in Accounting and Business. Neal worked most of his career at Erving Paper Company, and later at MassMutual.

A generous soul, loved by many, Neal gave from his heart to help people in need through church and community programs. He enjoyed woodworking, gold panning, and hiking.

Neal leaves behind Martha, his loving wife of 50 years; daughter Kelly and son-in-law Jeff (grandchildren Samantha and Benjamin) of South Deerfield; son Steven and daughter-in-law Agnes (grandchildren Dominik, Lisa, Lily-Ann) of Hettenleidelheim, Germany. He also leaves behind six siblings: Carolyn Lawry, Mark, Brian, Russell, Deborah Daniels-Bleyendaal, Christine Devlin; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 9:30-11 AM followed by Prayer Service at 11 AM on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME of Northampton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Neal’s memory to the Northampton Survival Center or The Red Cross.
