Plastic Bag Ban

Northampton has banned the use of disposable plastic grocery bags starting January 2016. Anyone coming to the Center for food should bring their own containers of ANY KIND – cloth bags, paper bags, plastic bags, boxes, baskets.

NORTHAMPTON – Michael P. McGuire, 66, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, in Northampton.

Michael was born in Lewiston, Maine, to the late Florence (Dietrich) and Francis McGuire. He graduated from the Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine, received his associates degree from Wentworth Institute and his bachelor's in sociology from the former Boston State College.

In Memoriam – Jeanne Comerford

NORTHAMPTON – Jeanne Comerford, 80, a public school librarian and educator, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015.

Known for her big heart and generosity, Jeanne's greatest loves were her family and her faith. A New Yorker for most of her life, she attended the Mary Louis Academy, Our Lady of Good Counsel College, and St. John's University where she studied English literature and library science.
